Welcome
to Long Island Hot Rods!
Friday
Nights at the Sunrise Mall
in Massapequa, NY 2002
This
Friday, 6-7-2002, I went to the Sunrise Mall Cruise night hosted by
the Goodfella's. They did an awesome job managing traffic and getting
an ideal spot with room for many, many cars. There were several
hundred cars there and here are some pictures.

The above picture was taken at about 6pm when I
arrived. By 8:30pm, there was little room left in the lot and it's a
huge lot! No more circling the bellmore train station!! YAAY! See our
new calendar
for other shows and dates.

The beautiful 34 above with the stunning paint and
custom work is Frank's. Take a close look at this custom rod as there
are many trick features. Chirps third too!

The topless 31 belongs to Frank's brother Mike. They
think the cars look alike... yeah, yeah, that's it - they're twins....
:o) Gotta love the originality and attention to detail in these cars.
To hell with the purists!

You can always count on the die-hard oldies at a
good show and this was no different. If those cars could talk.....

GT 500 KR! Now that's a valuable pony car. About 15
years ago, we came across a convertible GT 500 KR complete with 428.
It was in the backwoods of upstate New York; the top was gone and
there were headers in the front seat. We knocked on the door and the
people pretended they weren't home. If only we had been persistent....
That's probably a $60k car today.

Not sure of the year of the above Impala, but it was
beautiful.

This Nova was badddd. The motor was chopping down
trees and the perfume better-known-as cam2 filled the lot. There is
Nothing like the crisp sound of 13 or 14:1 combined with smell of
cam2. All he needs now are those cool (NOT) clear tail lights from a
Honda and a 4 foot wing and he'd be ready for takeoff! :o)

The RawPower brothers, of which I am 1/2, were out
again with their 68 and 70. Be sure to check out the 70's new motor.
It makes 904 horsepower on pump gas. Don't believe it? See the dyno
pulls here.
It was supercharger night at the Mall and we had 3 of them on hand.
Beware, another supercharged 540 is being built for a 70 Camaro. Wait
'till you see this monster!
